Lovely Little Rings & Things
Turquoise Sugarloaf Mogul Ring in Gold
Turquoise Sugarloaf Mogul Ring in Gold
Add this to “I wish rings could talk” file… I handle hundreds of pieces of jewelry when I’m sourcing and every now and then one stops me in my tracks. I’m overcome with this insatiable desire to know more about this special little treasure- THIS. IS. THAT. RING.
It isn’t perfect, it has been loved and repaired- the signs are all there, but it has a mysterious and enchanting aura about it… maybe the ‘not knowing’ is part of that.
Regardless, this ring is special and it’s a work of art- those filigree floral blooms acting as prongs in the setting are so thin! That gold cannot be much thicker than a couple strands of hair! And the lace-like filigree on the shoulders is the same way! The construction, the amount of ornate details and decorations, the interesting ‘boat’ shape with tiers, the gold beading- I’m just in awe!
